The Ice Bucket Challenge

Have you ever how effective blubber actually is at protecting animals from the frigid temperatures of the Arctic? Mr. Stone's fifth grade class recently came to the learning lab to do a  "hands on" investigation of this very question. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

This looks like fun!

Then again - maybe not!

Really Mr. Stone.....I'm not cold!

Piece of cake!

How long do I need to keep my hand in here?

I'm not so sure about this....

I'm glad I don't live in the Arctic!

I am rethinking this experiment!
Wow - check out that live data!

The Bee Bots Have Invaded Crossroads

First and Second grade students have been using Bee Bots to learn the basics of computer programming. The students developed a basic language that enables them to communicate with their Bee Bot. They are now working in collaborative partnerships to write programs that will enable their Bee Bots to carry out simple tasks.

"Everyone in this country should learn how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think.” ~ Steve Jobs
