The young scientists in first and second grade became experts in the
field of light. Through a series of student developed investigations, students
discovered the properties of light, how light interacts with various materials
refraction, and various ways to manipulate light. They recently assumed the role of optical
engineers to design a lighting system that could illuminate the hieroglyphs
found on the inside of an Egyptian tomb using indirect light.
